THE GUILD OF GOWANUS
The objective of this project was to create a Live, Work, Play environment for the redevelopment of the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn. Historically, the Canal is known for being extremely contaminated but the neighborhood has experienced a recent interest for revitalization. This project seeks to link the major demographic of artisans with the redevelopment of Gowanus to ensure that they always have a home within their original neighborhood. The project also seeks to utilize rainwater harvest & site remediation as sustainable design strategies to ensure the environmental revitalization of the canal in the future.
